Ingredients
| Banana | 1 | unpeeled |
|---|---|---|
| Chocolate chips | 2 tbsp | |
| Mini marshmallows | 1/4 cup | |
| Peanut butter | 1 tbsp | optional |
| Foil | 1 sheet |
Method
- Cut a slit down the inside curve of the banana, through the peel but not through the far side.
- Push the slit open and stuff it with chocolate, marshmallows, and peanut butter.
- Wrap in foil and set it on the edge of the coals, slit side up, for 10 minutes.
- Unwrap carefully and eat it out of the peel with a spoon.
The banana peel is the cooking vessel, which means nothing to wash and nothing to pack out but foil and a peel. It is also the rare campfire dessert that does not require anyone to stand over the fire holding a stick.
Edge of the coals, not in them. Directly in the fire and you get a black banana with cold chocolate inside.
Variations
- Caramel bits and flaky salt instead of marshmallow.
- Crushed graham crackers on top after it comes off, which makes it a s'more with extra steps.
