Ingredients

Chocolate or vanilla protein powder 1 serving scoop check the label, some brands call two scoops one serving
Chocolate PB2 powdered peanut butter 2 tbsp
Powdered almond or coconut milk 3 tbsp replaces the carton of almond milk
Freeze-dried banana slices 1/3 cup crush them in the bag before packing
Salt a pinch

Method

  1. Pour the premixed powder into a wide-mouth bottle.
  2. Add 400 ml of cold water. Less water makes it thicker.
  3. Cap it and shake hard for twenty seconds. Let it sit a minute, then shake again to break up the lumps.
  4. Drink it. Rinse the bottle right away or the residue sets like glue.

The original is a blender drink: frozen banana, liquid almond milk, protein powder. None of that travels. Freeze-dried banana crushed to a coarse powder rehydrates in the bottle and gives the same sweetness and body, and powdered plant milk replaces the carton. No blender, no cooler, no stove.

The shaking matters more than it sounds. Protein powder and PB2 both clump on contact with water, so you shake, rest, and shake again. A minute of sitting lets the banana soften and the whole thing thickens on its own.

Packing

Combine everything into one snack bag per serving at home. Carry a bottle with a wide mouth and a good gasket, and pack the bags flat against the frame sheet so they do not burst.

Variations

  • Swap in plain PB2 and a tablespoon of cocoa powder if you already carry cocoa.
  • A tablespoon of olive oil or milk powder pushes it past 550 calories for a long day.
  • Instant coffee turns it into a morning drink.
