Ingredients
| Powdered eggs | 2 tbsp | |
|---|---|---|
| Freeze-dried sausage | 1/4 cup | |
| Instant mashed potato | 1/3 cup | plain, unflavored |
| Dehydrated tomato pieces | 2 tbsp | |
| Dehydrated spinach | 1 tbsp | |
| Olive oil | 1 tbsp | carried in a separate small bottle |
| Salt | 1/4 tsp | |
| Black pepper | 1/4 tsp |
Method
- Boil 360 ml of water.
- Pour it into your bowl or into the freezer bag with all dry ingredients.
- Stir well.
- Cover or seal and let sit for 10 to 15 minutes while potatoes and vegetables rehydrate.
- Stir again, adjust seasoning, and eat hot.
Freeze-dried sausage and powdered eggs turn into a proper breakfast in boiling water and ten minutes. The instant potatoes thicken it from soup into something you can actually chew, and the oil is what makes it stick with you past mid-morning—skip it and you’re eating salt and air.
Packing
Mix powdered eggs, sausage, potato flakes, dehydrated tomato, and spinach into a quart freezer bag at home. Salt and pepper can go in the same bag or in a tiny separate container. Oil travels separately so it doesn't grease everything.
Variations
- Add hot sauce for heat.
- Use bacon bits instead of sausage.
- Stir in a tablespoon of powdered cheddar after the initial rehydration.
- Add dried mushroom powder or onion powder for more savory depth.
