Ingredients
| Instant rice | 1 cup | the parboiled kind that rehydrates in five minutes |
|---|---|---|
| Dried porcini | 1/3 oz | broken into small pieces so they soften fast |
| Soy granules | 1/3 cup | textured vegetable protein, fine or medium |
| Dried garlic clove | 1 | crushed at home into flakes |
| Olive oil | 1 tbsp | dropper bottle |
| Salt and pepper | to taste |
Method
- Boil 500 ml of water. Drop in the porcini, garlic, and soy granules first and give them a minute alone.

Packing
Rice, mushrooms, soy granules, garlic, and seasoning share one bag. Oil rides separately in a bottle that seals.
Variations
- A spoonful of tomato powder turns the broth into something closer to a stew.
- Swap the soy granules for a foil pouch of tuna if you are not keeping it vegan.
