a route stays a plan until the miles have actually happened
the eastern sierra is still a plan, not a retrospective. yosemite was the gateway. now i keep looking east toward 395 while i work toward my lead certification at Pacific Pipe in Oakland
the useful observation so far is about restraint: an unverified distance or elevation does not become more true because it looks good in a trip card. those fields stay blank until the route happens and the numbers can be checked
this note gets the actual approach, conditions, and thing that went sideways after the field day
